Biological Classification — NEET MCQs with answers

NCERT Class 11 · Biology · Ch 210 free questions506 in the full bank
R.H. Whittaker (1969) proposed the Five Kingdom Classification — Monera, Protista, Fungi, Plantae and Animalia — using cell structure, body organisation, mode of nutrition, reproduction and phylogenetic relationships as the main criteria. The earlier Two Kingdom system of Linnaeus' time was found inadequate because a large number of organisms did not fall into either category. The chapter surveys the five kingdoms and also introduces lichens and the acellular viruses, viroids and prions, which find no mention in Whittaker's system.
